Feeding Instructions

Hi-En Bull Challenger is especially designed to be fed to growing bulls or animals that are being developed in the feedlot.

It is intended as a follow up to Bull Challenger when a high energy diet is desired or it may be used where larger amounts of forage are being fed. It combines roughage, grain and supplement in a total ration.

When new cattle are placed in the feedlot they should be fed according to CHS nutrition starting program. After this period, gradually switch the animals to Bull Challenger, then to Hi-En Bull Challenger at a rate of 0.5 to 1 percent of bodyweight depending on desired performance. Dividing the daily ration into two equal feedings is suggested. Keep fresh feed available to the animals at all times.

It is strongly recommended that this product be bunk fed. Adapting cattle to self-feeders requires additional management to reduce risk of bloat and other digestive disturbances. Because of this, self-feeding is a producer risk. Although Hi-En Bull Challenger is intended as a complete feed, the feeder should include approximately 10%-25% good quality long roughage in the ration in an effort to minimize management problems.

Contact your local CHS nutrition consultant for assistance in planning a feeding program to meet your specific needs.
