Feeder Lamb Head Start
For starting sheep and goats.
Feeding Directions
Feeder Lamb Head Start is especially designed to be fed to feeder lambs during the critical receiving period. It contains roughage, grain, and supplement to make a complete ration.
Feed hay on the first day. Lambs can then be adapted to a full feed of Feeder Lamb Head Start with minimal hay over the next 1 to 2 days depending on the level of stress imposed on the lambs
during shipping.
Feeder Lamb Head Start should be fed at a rate of 1.0 to 4.66 pounds per head per day. After the starting period, lambs should be gradually adjusted to the appropriate growing or finishing ration for the balance of the feeding period. Fresh, clean water should be available at all times.
Contact your local CHS nutrition consultant for assistance in planning a feeding program to meet your specific needs.
